Believer's Stand United
I want to encourage you to participate in a debate that WILL have lasting repercussions in our attempt to fulfill God’s plan for the ages. Doug Wead, former adviser to presidents is helping to fight against the inquisition against our faith.
The inquiry of Senator Grassley into the financial affairs of 6 Word of Faith ministries is strategic in that it questions ministries whose doctrine is not widely embraced by the majority of western believers. Therefore, he doesn’t fear a negative effect upon his seductive scheme against “pentecostal” believers. Make no mistake about this. This inquiry is a spiritual attempt to intimidate the pentecostal doctrine.
Some argue that we should not resist such an inquiry into the finances because of the perceived abuse of some ministries. Are there abuses? Yes. But nevertheless, Christ is preached! Who should inquire? Certainly not the United States Congress! Kenneth Copeland Ministries invited the IRS to investigate their financial compliance. This would be the proper protocol. But the Senator is stepping completely out of his realm of privilege. The good Senator is assuming power without check.
I am so glad that the Copelands are completely out of debt and that they are financially able to defend their rights as a non-profit ministry. We need to understand that if we allow the government to interfere with our free practice of faith and the expenses involved in propagating our faith than we all will be subject to their wishes. A great example of a government interfering with our mission is what London is doing to Kingsway International Christian Church.
