The Scheme of Intimidation

One of the most profound strategic truths that I’ve discovered is how Satan attacks the Word of God. Most people never realize this tactical scheme of Satan.

The Bible says that, ”the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.” (Luke 8:12)

Satan uses the scheme of intimidation to keep people from believing the Word of God. Once a person hears the Word the enemy comes to steal it from having the opportunity to receive the Word and mix it with faith.

As a young pastor, I wanted to preach on a spiritual truth, to equip people with the Word of God. As soon as I made the decision to do so the enemy would attack me on that very point - if I wanted to preach on healing, finances, love, etc. The enemy would attack me on that subject and condemn me as a hypocrite or a lier.

The fact is, the attack is not personal, it’s business. The attack and accusation is not against me, it is against the Word itself. The enemy hates the Word. He attacks the Word of God at conception. Just as he wanted to kill Jesus while he was still an infant. Think of how ruthless the devil is, cowardly, his evil intent motivated by his fear of the Word.

If you can understand this tactic, you will be equipped with the ability to “resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Anointed by Association

”Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.” Psalms 1:1

It is imperative to maintain the right relationships. I know many people who have forfeited their dream because of inappropriate relationships.

This month alone, we have witnessed the destructive power of simple-minded men. A governor resigned, a political candidate “guilty” by association, the list goes on and on.

When I was young and naive I trusted, now that I am matured and seasoned I test. It is important to have the right kind of friendships.

”He that walks with the wise will become wise.” Proverbs 13:20

Reach for the companionship of great people, smart people, people who talk about dreams and ideas, not the minutia and mundane. Have conversations that build up and encourage. Don’t waste your talk on “tabloid” language. Invest in books. Listen to podcasts. Read biographies about great thinkers. Become a friend to someone you have never met. I have friends that don’t know me… and probably never will.
