Posts about “Law of Attraction”.
February 11, 2008
Oprah has been promoting a book called the Secret that teaches the Law of Attraction. The book touches on a spiritual truth and corresponds with many true principles that are taught in the Word of God; however, it also is in error because the book teaches the principles of the Law of Attraction without the protocol of Spiritual Authority. Much like sorcery, fortune telling, and witchcraft which crosses the line of spiritual principles outside of Godly authority.
Please be aware that my teaching of the Law of Attraction is based purely on God’s Word taught by Jesus in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25).
By the way, I have been teaching the Law of Attraction for more than eight years now.

You cannot decide a future that is different from your daily disciplines. A person who truly understands destiny realizes that they must decide their habits that will determine their future.
Habits create addictions. Let’s face it, we are people who are subject to addictions. The question is what are your addictions?
I recently finished a 21-day Daniel fast. It was a remarkable time for my wife, Kay and I, as we established a daily discipline of focusing on God’s Word and on specific prayers for our family. During the first week, I also discovered an addiction that I did not realize was as powerful in my life as it was - namely, caffeine. I haven’t drank sodas since 1990, so I was unaware of my addiction. I discovered that my coffee habit had become a stronghold in my body. For seven days I struggled with withdrawals. I had massive headaches, tense muscles, and nauseating pain. Finally, I broke through it. When I finally had relief I began to realize how good I sleep at night and how much better I felt during the day.
As powerful as addictions are you choice them to be in your life.
The first Stepping Stone to Success is creating a habit that will determine your destiny.

”In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
The Lord never tells someone to take a “leap of faith.” It is not a biblical concept. The only one to suggest to “jump off” was Satan who tempted Jesus to presumptuously leap off the pinnacle of the Temple.
The Lord leads us in steps not leaps. To determine your steps you need to meet with gifted, skilled, smart people.
For an effective meeting, before it begins:
A. Define the purpose and create an agenda.
B. Establish roles. Who is doing what in a meeting? Consider a scribe to write on the white paper, a time keeper to set the pace, and a presenter to manage the flow of conversation.
C. Determine the outcome before you start. What will you accomplish? What will you walk away with?
D. Know the meeting style. Participants should know if it’s a creative, brainstorming, problem-solving, or a discussion.
If you will invest in the meeting, you will see the wisdom of God meet with you.

Last week, while I was in Colorado Springs, three ministers and I walked through a mega-church facility to see what we could learn. This church has recently went through two major disasters, their pastor was found to be living a double life, perverted and addicted, then a deranged young man cowardly terrorized the campus on a Sunday following services, killing two sisters.
I love this church, I admire the way that they responded with grace toward their founding pastor upon the outing of his sins. I’m in awe of their humility and unity when faced with terrorism. When I listened to the podcast of the service the following Wednesday, I felt the Comforter, the precious Holy Spirit ministering in every word from the podium. This church body is amazing.
Less impressive are the facilities. Walking through the church campus was like dropping in to visit someone’s house without prior notice. It was familiar, like a living room where the participants are so comfortable with their surroundings that they don’t notice the dirt, the misplaced and broken down furnishings, the lack of signage, or the temporary signage addressing permanent problems. Maintenance is obviously overwhelmed, blind, or simply distracted.
I guess I should simply overlook such matters, ignore it, allow excuses to justify such poor stewardship, but I can’t. I’ve noticed a principle - ”Outward sloppiness reveals inward chaos.” When God found chaos, He said, ”Let there be Light.”
I left saddened that their facilities did not represent them well, it caused a question to arise in me, “Why doesn’t the facilities staff rise up to the challenge and represent the church better?”

”The noble man makes noble plans, and by noble deeds he stands.” Isaiah 32:8
I love what I do. I have the joy of helping great people step toward their God-inspired dreams. I enjoy hearing how they first received the revelation of their vision. I also like to encourage them when they face the inevitable resistance that comes. Remember, ”Nothing of great value is ever achieved without facing violent opposition.”
Most people will not push themselves beyond their comfort zone. They will work against some resistance but few will push through it. The old timers used to have a phrase when it came to prayer, “You have to pray through.” That meant that you must be willing to pray beyond what your flesh feels comfortable doing. Jesus certainly did when he prayed to the point of sweating drops of blood.
Isaiah said, “Noble man makes noble plans.”
I’ve learned that God honors plans that are noble in rank, which means that the plans are impressive, excellent, and call for superior ideas and creativity.
It doesn’t require God’s intervention to do the normal, routine, or common. If it is doable, simple, or casual, God doesn’t have to show up. But if your plans put a demand upon His wisdom and creativity, He arrives with generosity! (James 1)
Steps to Noble Planning:
Ask for the Counselor, the Holy Spirit to assist you in your plans. When I served as the Executive Pastor of one of America’s largest churches, I learned the incredible value of counsel. Our department head meetings were amazing as we worked through the noble plans that the Lead Pastor received in prayer.
Dream Big, think Steps. You can’t out dream God, that’s not the problem. The problem comes when you want to leap into it. God will give you a strategy that requires steps to get there.
Visual Expression. When you force yourself to express your dream on paper, it makes the dream take on a new level of clarity.
