3 Degrees of Separation

”And who is my neighbor?” Luke 10:29

You’ve heard of the 6 degrees of separation? Today, with the incredible social networking ability that technology has brought to our finger tips its more like 3 degrees.

For an example, I recently joined Facebook. I know that you may be thinking - Facebook? - isn’t it juvenile? I joined out of an invitation from Latin America Child Care. What is truly amazing is how many people have reentered my network of friendships that I have known in the past two decades.

I really want to encourage you to reconsider the purpose of networking with Facebook. The viral ability of social networking is truly amazing, especially for a great cause.

What is truly amazing is that the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God is now my friend on Facebook. We emailed each other today! Come on, are you kidding me? What a great day we’re living in. Let’s be creative and use it for the proclamation of God’s Word.

  1. I agree completely. The internet has changed so much of how we communicate and connect with one another. I too have linked with old friends and classmates via the social networking sites. It’s a great way to show others how we came to Christ. Many can look at my pages and simply look at the song selections or even my “new” friends and see that I’m not the same old guy I used to be.

    The fact that you’re exchanging e-mails with the Superintendent is awesome!
