Effective Meeting
”In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
The Lord never tells someone to take a “leap of faith.” It is not a biblical concept. The only one to suggest to “jump off” was Satan who tempted Jesus to presumptuously leap off the pinnacle of the Temple.
The Lord leads us in steps not leaps. To determine your steps you need to meet with gifted, skilled, smart people.
For an effective meeting, before it begins:
A. Define the purpose and create an agenda.
B. Establish roles. Who is doing what in a meeting? Consider a scribe to write on the white paper, a time keeper to set the pace, and a presenter to manage the flow of conversation.
C. Determine the outcome before you start. What will you accomplish? What will you walk away with?
D. Know the meeting style. Participants should know if it’s a creative, brainstorming, problem-solving, or a discussion.
If you will invest in the meeting, you will see the wisdom of God meet with you.
