The Currency of Time

Time is a currency. Yesterday, I spoke with a church planter that was having a issue with recruits not arriving on time. Few people truly value time as a currency. The Bible says a lot about time. We should give it some attention.

  1. Those who are late for an appointment are acting out of pride not honoring another person. Look at Romans 12:10 - “Honor one another above yourself.”

  2. Take note of the person who disregards and disrespects your time. If someone does not respect your time, they hold you personally of little value.

  3. You will never satisfy someone who extorts the profit of your time. They are leeches that suck the very life out of your productivity.

  4. Redeem the time means to literally make payment or advantage of the moment.

  5. Calculate the value of your time. What does the “moment” actually costs you. If you make $100,000 a year, your time is valued at $50 per hour.

  2. I agree wholeheartedly! We can either spend time with someone or invest time with someone. I choose the latter. I would much rather my time be spent being productive than conductive. Too often we conduct conversations but nothing really grows out of it.
